- CURCHI DE HAMBURGO
This site is found very close to Riberalta, within the varzea forest of Hamburgo, in between the City of Riberalta and the Beni River. This trail will take you into the varzea forest and the swampy lake (locally known as curichi) which has a network of trails opened up by locals to access the abundance of fish. Although degradation is high, the site has an impressive diversity of amphibians and reptiles.
- Warnes – LOMA ALTA
A few years ago the families of Loma Alta opened up a road through the varzea of the Beni River to improve the access from Riberalta, increasing the traffic. Althought, there is still a lot of interesting wildlife along this road. There are several pools with lots of frogs and activity is incredible when water from the Beni River floods the area. During the rainy season the road can turn almost inaccessible because of the high humidity (or even floods) and heavy traffic by timber trucks.
- SECONDARY ROAD NEAR EL PRADO:
These high density frog forest, is perfect to visit especially during the rainy season, when pools along this road fill up, offering great mating sites for frogs – and hunting opportunities for snakes.
